Five Artists and Brands Who Should Collaborate

Artists are so stylish and fashion savvy these days, it comes to no surprise that clothing brands are teaming up with musicians to create limited edition collections. From Wu Tang to Bun B and even new artist Vado, rappers seem to serve as inspirations for designers. With the holiday season getting closer by the day, now is the perfect time for fashion brands to look to collab with artists for those rare and limited capsule collections. Here are five pairs of artists and brands who should come together to create great product.

1. Youth Jersey.
Rocksmith recently dropped their capsule collection inspired by Staten Island rap group, the Wu Tang Clan. I can definitely see Rocksmith doing Young Money’s gear justice, with pieces based on different members of the crew. From Weezy-inspired hoodies, to Drake-themed hats and Nicki Minaj tees, Rocksmith has what it takes to help Young Money conquer the clothing game, just like they’ve done with music.

2. Snoop Dogg x LRG
LRG is known for their “green”-inspired clothing (Hustle Trees shirt, smoking jacket) and with rapper Snoop Dogg being an advocate for the sticky-icky, their capsule collection would go up in smoke–literally. If Snoop got together with the Lifted Research Group, there’d be no limit to how high this collabo can get.

3. Flavor Flav x Flud Watches

Flavor Flav, known for showing off the time in a non-traditional way, has the craziest clock collection in the game. Pairing up with Flud Watches would be a great move for both Flav and Flud. Flud Watches are unconventional timepieces—a DJ turntable and a radio have served as inspirations for past Flud Watch collections. Can you imagine what kind of craziness this duo could make?

4. Rick Ross x Coogi
Rick Ross is the modern day Notorious B.I.G. Now before you get angry and send me hate mail, I’m not referring to his music—I’m speaking of his swagger and image. Ross is doing exactly what Biggie did, embracing his obesity, thus making it cool to be big. Can you imagine what a Rick’s capsule collection would look like?

5. Nike Shox NZ
While this collabo already happened, we need it to happen again. Hov definitely changed the game as one of the first rap artists to partner with a major sneaker company for their own signature sneaker. Nike Shox NZ   opened the door for more fashion opportunities with rappers. Although many emcees have released sneakers, none have sold as well or were as stylish as the S. Carter shoe. Birdman‘s Lugz, The Game‘s Hurricane sneaker, and even 50 Cent‘s G-Unit sneaker don’t hold water to Hov’s Reebok footwear.
